About Accredited Specialist Courses
The NSPI Accredited Specialist program is designed to provide professional development in all aspects of the swimming pool and spa industry. It was developed in consultation with industry groups, government regulators and non-profit organisations.
The program provides graduates with the underpinning knowledge and skills to work safely, efficiently and accurately in the swimming pool and spa industry. It measures trainees’ competency against industry standards.
Status as an NSPI Accredited Specialist is gained when a trainee is assessed as competent in the underpinning skills and knowledge required to work safely, efficiently and accurately in the units that make up their specialisation.
An individual’s NSPI specialist accreditation must be renewed every four years, ensuring NSPI's Accredited Specialists are up-to-date with current legislation, regulations and practices.
In addition, the program aims to increase consumer respect, trust and confidence in the industry and its representatives. The consumer hiring an NSPI Accredited Specialist can expect competent service from a professional aware of the latest technology and meeting all safety requirements. Consumers are able to check this NSPI website to determine the type of NSPI Accredited Specialist required for a particular job and to select one in their area via the Accredited Specialist Register.
For all Accredited Specialist Courses (except for Pool Water Analysis) applicants must provide evidence of completion of General Workplace Health and Safety Induction 30215QLD (Blue Card).
