About Accredited Specialist Courses
The NSPI Accredited Specialist program is designed in consultation with
key stakeholders to provide professional development in all aspects of
the swimming pool and spa industry.
The program provides graduates with the underpinning knowledge and skills to work safely, efficiently and accurately in the swimming pool and spa industry.
Accreditation as an NSPI Accredited Specialist is achieved when you are successfully assessed as having the underpinning skills and knowledge required to work safely, efficiently and accurately in all the subjects that make up the course.
Your NSPI specialist accreditation must be renewed every four years, to ensure that you are keeping up-to-date with legislation, regulations and current industry practices.
In addition, the program aims to increase consumer respect, trust and confidence in the pool and spa industry and its representatives. The consumer hiring an NSPI Accredited Specialist can expect competent service from a professional who is aware of the latest technology and meeting all safety requirements. Consumers are able to check the NSPI website to determine the type of NSPI Accredited Specialist required for a particular job and to select one in their area via the Accredited Specialist Register.
It is a legal requirement that all people who carry out work on a construction or maintenance work site have completed a General Workplace Health and Safety Induction course. Evidence of completion of a nationally recognised induction course must be provided (except for Accredited Specialist in Pool Water Analysis). More information is available on the Queensland Department of Employment and Industrial Relations website.
